I found some old pics of the Warmoth bass I had built. It starts out with a sad twist but ends up with the typical Hollywood ending.

Upon opening the box, I pulled out....
So, back to the Warmoth site to order another neck. UPS and Warmoth were very supportive and understanding and they expedited the next one.
Thankfully, the body didn't have the adventures then neck did.

So, the question is - for my next bass project, what to do? Do another Warmoth project? Talk and work with a boutique builder? Order a pre made model from a builder I like?
I've been speaking with a few smaller builders and I plan to visit them over the next month or so - taking my current rig and throw their basses along side mine to see and hear the differences.
I'll post the results as I experience each one.
