I've been researching Walter Woods amps. Not in the desire to own one but more for educational reasons.
I've owned an early Walter Woods amp back in the mid/late 1980's. It was a fantastic amp. So much power out of such a tiny head. My usual setup was a single JBL E140 15 inch speaker in a large JBL cabinet at 8 ohms powered by the 600 watts of the Walter Woods head.
The amp I had was the third amp built by Walter. I took it to Walter back in the late 1980's and he reworked a few components. He was very nice and did all the work for free. I had bought the amp second hand so to say I was impressed by the man was an understatement.
Regrettably, I sold the amp in the mid 1990's. Kids have a way of resetting one's priorities.
I stumbled upon a French site of Hubert Liegeois. Hubert is a double bassist and an electrical engineer. On his Walter Woods page, Hubert chronicles the various Walter Woods amps thru the years.
Walter doesn't have a web site and the only way to get a hold if him is by phone.

Ahh, memories. My old Ibanez Musician in my hands and my Walter Woods amp behind me.
