I have access to a Alesis iMultiMix8-USB 8 channel mixer. I think I can use it to build my in ear monitor (IEM) system. The plan...(cue dramatic music)... 1) Run my Warwick Thumb NT bass to my Eden WT405 bass amp. The amp will not power any speakers. 2) Run a line out from my amp to the house system. 3) Run a line out from my amp to the iMultiMix8. 4) Run a monitor line from the house system containing the vocals to the iMultiMix8. 5) Run a headphone out from the iMultiMix8 to my Alien Ears. 6) I can now mix my bass signal and whatever is coming back in the monitor feed (vocals and the guitars). 7) I should be able to hear the drums over the monitors. I can try to make a Visio diagram of the above. Yesyes, as you can tell, its a slow Tuesday night. Well, I don't have Visio on my home laptop so I threw the images together in Excel. Flow to the right. In theory, it should work. The beauty of this is I can find a padded gig bag to carry the Eden head and Alesis mixer (with a few cords) and then my over the shoulder soft case for the Warwick. With two bags, I can be gig ready. Let's see how well the theory holds together when the rubber hits the road. I'm on hold until Alien Ears ships me my ears. | |
