I was reading a forum thread at Bass Player about a better way to see side dots on the neck. This caught my eye because I am planning to have small LEDs installed in my next bass. I'm not sure if I play a lot of dark locations or my current bass has dull side dots and fretlines - but I have issues with the visibility of the neck.
Anyway, the forum thread discussed glow in the dark stickers, florescent paint, and some "tape a light to the neck" product. All interesting but not solutions I want to follow. However, the gem I discovered in reading about these solutions was a link: www.notreble.com/.
This site is "The Site for Bass Players". This site has gear reviews, interviews, how-to videos, lessons and lesson plans, music reviews and previews, top 10 lists for everything under the sun, player spotlight, and a gig listing (based on location). All centered on bass and bass players. Truly an amazing site.
I plan to spend the next few nights reading some of the articles and getting a good idea of the gear they've reviewed.
It's like finding a new toy store. They probably even have candy.
