I ran across Dan Carlin's site and pod casts and I can't believe how much I enjoy them. His HardCore History pod casts are riveting and entertaining. He's got a great radio-style voice and and his delivery of the content reminds me of a few well-liked college professors.
But the biggest take-away, surprisingly, is how much my public school history education is lacking. True, it could be because I was an unmotivated student, but history was never a subject I felt connected to or part of. It was never "brought home" to make me feel like it was my history.
Dan goes into so much detail and constantly throws himself and the listener into the story that you come away feeling connected to the events you thought you knew.
Highly recommended.
