I found a new hollow body bass at DeMars Guitars. A few pictures are pasted below. I love the clean lines of the Long Trail bass. They have a 5 string version of course. The "mag" version will probably have more tonal variation, but the no-pickup and no-knob look of the Long Trail bass is very appealing to me.
The drag is I don't see any on the west coast - and I want to play one before I decide to pull the trigger. Dan DeMars has been very helpful and gave me the list of players out here who own one of his basses. I am in the process of trying to contact one of them for a hands on review.
